FAIRMAN TMEQ Mastering EQ Mastering gain mod

Rarely seen on the used market now, Fairman TMEQ tube equalizer in good aesthetically condition (some scratchs,marks on the front plate), absolutely perfect working condition .

this unit was cherished during all the time i had it.

this one have the mastering mod (with 1/2 gain range modification)

The 22 tubes inside are carefully selected NOS choice (please see pic for details) and the result of extensive testing for a euphonics tubes tone and low noise

Tube heater Zener MOD has been made for prolonged life time of the tubes.

Maintained with great care under the direction of Werner .

Power supply can be set to 110V

Under the advice of Werner "Fairman" Scherrer, when he was of this world :

• GAIN MOD : this unit was modified to be better suit to mastering applications (please see pdf attached for gains steps, first stepped is around 0.35db then higher)

The resistors are Vishay MRS 25, 1% type (E96 scale).

The Lo/Hi gain will progressively start from 0.2 dB to 0.9 dB per step.

The Lo/Hi Mid gain will progressively start from 0.25 dB to 0.9 per step.

• every ELMA switches was cleaned internally (spray WL KONTACT cleaner) to remove any substance that can create some glitches : result flawless silent operation (Elma 04 switches needs “clinical” clean gold contacts to work properly)
• the unit was upgrade to the TMEQ EF86 (V9) heater protection.(extended tubes life)
• TUBES : actually tubes with NOS from 1950's to 60's
