I am selling this beautiful tape recorder Stellavox SP7, manufactured in Switzerland. I have personally used and tested the unit multiple times. It is in good to very good condition considering its age.

I have tested the most important functions and connections and found no defects. Record, playback, fast-forward, indicator lights, built-in speaker, two record potentiometers, Tape/Direct switch, etc. all work perfectly. The audio you hear in the video was recorded by me on this device (using external Nagra preamps).

The transport – as with all Stellavox devices – takes a few seconds to stabilize. If you prefer to optimize wow & flutter directly on the machine instead of using DAW plugins in post-production, you should have it serviced by a professional. There is likely still some potential for fine-tuning.

The pinch roller is OK, but relatively thin, so it should be replaced at some point (check eBay for replacements).

I could not test the microphone inputs as I do not have DIN microphones or DIN-XLR adapters. However, the diode connection works flawlessly with the included high-quality cable, as demonstrated in the video.

I purchased the device from a HiFi service technician in Walzenhausen in December 2022 and have only used it a few times since. At the end of 2024, it was inspected by a Stellavox specialist together with my other equipment. I am selling it now because I have too many devices (2x SP8, several Nagras), no time to use them, and I need to reduce my collection.
