This is a 2025 arrival and serial and a fresh arrival from Rickenbacker.
The bass has the new "slimmer neck" profile. The necks on these models have been thinned down slightly and have a flatter back of the neck with less “chunk” than what they have had. The width of the neck has remained the same, it is just the girth of the neck that has changed. This thinner neck is similar to the necks on vintage 4001 instruments and gives the instrument a feel more like a vintage RIC bass.
