New head, professionally set up 3/25 by Southeast Guitar Repair. 4 strings, the head should be Re-wrapped. I'm a guitar tech and the challenge of getting this old Banjo in playing condition was fun. Unfortunately when I put the head on it didn't get pulled down far enough where the neck joins the body, because of this the strings don't sound out when you play past the 12th fret. When I have played Banjo I don't think I ever tried playing that high up one the neck. It has a new Bridge. The case, as you can see, has problems in the head. It looks like it became de-laminated. I believe with a little fiberglass and resin the case can be made workable. My advice is if you are going to move it around, you should buy another case. after all it is 98 years old.
