This is a mid-2000s hand wired '59 Bassman style amp by "Trimmed and Burnin' Amps" out of Bellingham, WA. The builder retired a few years ago, and this was his personal amp.
This was a hand-built 5F6-A "'59 Bassman" style 45w all-tube amp, and I'm including "guts shots" to illustrate just how neat and tidy this amp is. All wiring except the heaters is tucked up in the lips at the top and bottom of the chassis, and uses crisp 90° bends to prevent crosstalk. This amp is overbuilt and should last a lifetime.
Instead of the usual tweed 4-10 combo you find on this model Bassman, the builder opted for a JTM45-style 2-12 combo cabinet, and later installed an Area 51 Tube Audio Designs BMT-60 bias modulating footswitch-controlled tremolo (no longer made, some info can be found on the Wayback Machine, message me for the link).
This amp is well maintained, and sounds amazing. You can get near-black panel cleans at lower volumes, and once you get up to around halfway on the volume knob, you start to hit the edge of breakup. From there, it gets more and more saturated, until you are at full on tube distortion when cranked to 12. The tremolo is sweet and buttery smooth, not quite as "helecoptery" as the black panel tremolo of the mid-to-late '60s. More of a sine wave as opposed to a sawtooth or square wave.
I'm downsizing my amp collection, as I'm mostly a church player these days, and they're all digital/ampless stage setups anymore. If you love the sound of a tube amp moving real air, this is the one for you.
I will ship this amp within the continental US at the buyer's expense, just be aware that it's around 50lbs. I've shipped heavy amps before, and will ensure that it's packed accordingly.
This isn't a kit amp or a DIY, it was built by a small commercial shop nearly 20 years ago. I see kits and "chassis only" stuff for sale on here for close to the price I'm asking for a complete working amp. I'm open to offers, of course. But please, no lowballs. Message me with any questions. Thanks :)
