Tama - 14x8" Superstar Snare Drum, Cast Hoops 1980's
Here's a great sounding 1980s Tama 14x8" Superstar 6-ply birch snare drum. The drum has been refinished in a grey satin lacquer. Die-cast hoops. All original parts. The throw off and muffler work just like they're supposed to. No extra holes.
One of the lugs has a broken screw hole, seen in the pictures. The lug stays in place perfectly when under tension. If I had a spare lug I'd have replaced it.
Look close at the photos of the badge. It looks like maybe the outer ply of wood was sanded down around the badge leaving the badge looking like it's raised. It looks kinda cool but I have no idea why it was done.
The drum sounds great. Great cracking back beats. The cast hoops make the drum pretty dry and focused. Great for heavier music.
