ON HOLD - 10/2/18

(USED) Just in from a local collector, here's a distinctive Tal Farlow archtop from the Art & Historic Division at the Gibson Custom Shop.

This model was originally released in 1962, and its body shares some dimensional likeness to the popular ES-5. It has a faux-scroll rounded cutaway, designed by Farlow, upside-down J-200 fingerboard inlays, double-crown headstock inlays, and a Tal Farlow trapeze tailpiece with inlaid rosewood block.

It’s a 17” wide, full-sized archtop, 3” deep and weighing in at about 7 lbs. 25 1/2” scale length, with a 1 11/16” nut width. Multi-ply binding on the body’s top and back, single-ply white binding on the fingerboard, headstock, and f-holes.

Two humbucking pickups with individual volume and tone controls, three-way selector switch. The original floating rosewood bridge base with ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge is included, but the guitar currently sports a solid wood compensated saddle. Condition is excellent with hardly any fret wear and only a bit of tarnish on the pickup covers. Includes the Gibson Custom case and certificate of authenticity.
