A super cool Slingerland kit from the early/mid 1960s. This seems to be an 8x12" and 12x20" "Jobbing Outfit" with an added, and nicely matching 16" (depth) x 14" (diameter) floor tom. The 12/20" have maple interiors and are date stamped 1964 and '63 respectively. The floor tom is mahogany interior with no detectable date stamp, but probably dates to a few years earlier. The kit is in great shape for its age, with very clean chrome, rail consolette and diamond plate removed and the holes filled with round-head bolts. Also includes original cymbal L-arm and dual mounts.
This kit really sings, with a quickness in the kick, and round, tubby tom tones. Perfect overall blend, a truly great sounding balance, and a very unique conversation starter as well.
