Pearl - 14x8" John Douglas, Masterworks Skull Krusher Snare Drum 2010 - Flame Graphic/Skull Lugs

John Douglas knows his way around the drum world. As an artist he's customized drums and guitars for a staggering list of the biggest rock bands on the planet…Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Maná, Van Halen and ZZ Top to name just a few. He's worked as a drum tech for drummers including Alex Van Halen and Joey Kramer of Aerosmith. He even filled on a few Aerosmith shows for Joey Kramer before eventually being asked to take over.

John customized this 2010 Pearl Masterworks snare drum with a flame finish and added his own custom cast skull lug casings. John described the process in a 2020 post on Pearl's FaceBook page seen here in our photos.

The drum is a one-of-a- kind custom drum built by the most widely known drum artist in the world. The Pearl 14x8" Masterworks snare drum features a maple-hybrid shell, die-cast hoops, top-tier Pearl snare strainer system. John adorned the drum with 20 of his custom cast skull lugs and a spectacular 3-D flame finish. One of the Skull lugs pops off, but it pops back on just as easily. The drum is otherwise in amazing shape with no notable issues. The photos tell all.
