I am offering here a Dean Dime Razorback 10K Commemorative from 2009, a made in South Korea signature model of the unfortunately much-too-soon-deceased Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell to mark the 10,000th Razorback guitar sold milestone, with a solid mahogany body, set-in mahogany neck with soft “V” neck profile and 43mm locking nut, premium Indian rosewood fingerboard with “V” inlays including Custom Dime Razorblade inlay at the 12th fret, hot HH configuration with a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker DMT pickup at the neck and a Full Shred SH-10 humbucker at the bridge, high-quality Floyd Rose Licensed Tremolo Bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners in a radiant metallic finish with Diamond Plate inlays in excellent collector's condition including original Dean luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 9-gauge Ernie Ball strings.

This Dean Dime Razorback 10K Commemorative is a limited edition model, handmade in Korea to celebrate the 10,000th Razorback guitar sold. Dimebag Darrell, the unforgettable guitar hero of an entire generation of fans and musicians, worked with Dean until a few months before his tragic death on stage with his eccentric signature guitar, which was created by Dean for Darrell Lance Abbot - his real name - with the distinctive razor blade design. Dimebag himself was unable to enjoy the great success of the “Razorback”, as he fell victim to the horrific act of a gunman in 2004.

As you would expect from Dean, this hand-forged beast combines all the high-end specs that a metal guitarist could dream of: a solid mahogany body provides the fat, powerful tone, the one-piece mahogany neck in set-neck construction offers ideal tone transmission with long sustain, and the infamous Seymour Duncan Dimebag Darrel Signature humbucker set – with the bridge pickup temporarily replaced here by a Seymour Duncan Full Shred SH-10 (but with the original pickup included) – allows for the full range of punchy, loaded Pantera sound options when plugged into an amp .

In terms of playability, the slim soft “V” shaped mahogany neck in combination with the 43mm nut width allows for lightning-fast playability with a super comfortable feel.

The attention to detail on this guitar is heartwarming: high-quality Grover Rotomatics tuners provide incredible tuning stability, even with heavy use of the Floyd Rose tremolo system, and the dark rosewood fingerboard features intricately designed mother-of-pearl V-inlays, including the characteristic Dime razor blade at the 12th fret. The plastic Diamond Plate Top appears much heavier than it actually is and complements the sparkling metallic finish perfectly.

The Dean Dime Razorback 10K Commemorative was only produced in a limited edition in 2008/09 and has since become an extremely rare collector's item.

This guitar is in excellent collector's condition and technically flawless. Visually, if at all, only the finest wear can be found (see pictures). The frets were optimized as part of a PLEK service.
