Listed in a Daion catalog from 1978, the DLP-35 is a "Made in Japan" Founder single cut electric guitar that has been rebranded Daion. The Daion price list (see Daion.com/catalogs) describes it as a “Les Paul Custom” model.
The guitar has a Maple top, Lauan back and body, Nato detachable (bolt-on) neck, Rosewood fingerboard, and dual humbucker pickups. Plastic block inlay fret markers are pearloid in color. The gold plated hardware is wearing off (see pictures).
Comes with a vintage hard case with broken hinges. The latches work and keep the case closed but I would not use it for gigging - consider it as "free" to facilitate shipping (see pic).
This example was sourced out of the UK and is one of the earliest examples of a Daion branded electric instrument sold outside of Japan.
