In 1955 this successful model series was built for the first time and referred to then as the Southern Jumbo.The 1950's models featured a round shoulder design which was then changed in the 60's to it’s current classic square appearance.
This guitar is widely respected and referred to as the SouthernJumbo Sunburst (SJB) or Country Western.
Gibson‘s dreadnought includes a solid Spruce top and an Indian Rosewood body. This featured instrument is a great example of the iconic Country Western model, made famous by the likes of musicians like Hank Williams and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.
The Gibson acoustic guitars are known for their warm glowing tone, and fast smooth playing necks ideal for recording.
The ultimate guitar for cowboys, flatpickers and blues players alike its crafted for performance and because it plays so effortlessly, it would also be an ideal guitar for those aspiring to advance.
The 1974 Gibson Country Western is a real gem with character ,appearance, and most importantly amazing tone.This particular model is in stelar shape and is cosmetically beautiful with a great finish and only a few inclusions as would be expected from vintage guitar.
The guitar has been set up to play and is professionally fitted with a bone nut and hand-carved saddle upgrade. It also has a new 6105 stainless steel re-fret as well, bringing it closer to its pre-war sought after contemporary.
Being a Guitar of its fine age the wood has cured well balancing a tone that just oozes mojo. This guitar also comes with a new soft case by Roadrunner.
