This ad is for a pair of Electro-Voice 642 Cardiline Dynamic Shotgun Microphones in good working condition. There's a sticker and tape residue on both mics, and one of the metal trim plates is missing, replaced with a magic marker rendering. It doesn't affect the operation of the mic in any way. Created in 1960 for the film and broadcast industries, the 642 won an Academy Award for microphone design. Their long reach, versatility and great sound made them fixtures on film and television sets for decades. This pair came from Universal City Studios. When I bought them the seller told me they'd been used on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, but I have no way to confirm this. Selectable Bass Filter (Flat/1/2) and Impedance switches (50/150/250 ohms). They're also good for recording concerts from a distance, acoustic instruments and to capture sounds in large rooms. These are dynamic mics, no phantom power is needed. They use standard 3-pin XLR connectors. At almost 3 lbs each they're a bit heavy as compared to modern condenser mics. No clips or cases are included.
