LINDERT LOCOMOTIVE 'T' Brown / Cream 1990s w/HSC

Eccentric, unique, brilliant...

Love 'em or hate 'em. The Marmite guitar.

(Probably inspired the finish colour...)

Lindert guitars were created in Chelan Washington by the late lamented Charles Lindert.

Every Lindert along with its railway-inspired name, featured a 1930s radio-inspired body with crackle finish and the special patented 'Thumbs-up' headstock.

They were most commonly produced in this brown & cream incarnation. Linderts have no formal serial numbering but they almost invariably come from the 1990s.

This is the Locomotive 'T' (for Telecaster-shape) model and was probably produced in Korea for finishing and distribution in the U.S.

Condition-wise...

The body has few scrapes and some inevitable hairline cracks to the cream crackle finish. Try finding a Lindert without those.

The tuners are not original along with a couple of the bridge saddles and the neck has been professionally repaired. (See photos)

This feels smooth to the touch and glossy - presumably refinished post-repair. This incidentally is extremely solid - it just looks a bit eccentric. Charles Lindert might have approved.

There is what appears to be a natural flaw in the rosewood slab fingerboard edge. It can be felt but it doesn't interfere in any way. We have illustrated this in the hi-res shots too.

Apart from this, the neck and fingerboard are actually in very nice condition. The frets are high and intonation is excellent.

The flaws are all factored into the price.

Finally...

It has brand new strings and plays great. The electrics are all flawless and it sounds excellent. Lindert pickups may look fairly typical but they are not. These lads really pack some muscle.

Join the Marmite set...

Or not.

A Note On Shipping:

We want you to be fully satisfied with everything - from the item itself (naturally!) through the shipping, packaging, communication etc.

Of course there is nothing we can do about customs duty, local taxes etc at your end. But we can keep the overall price as competitive as is decently possible.

The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.

For this reason none of the shipping costs we quote reflect the actual price we have to pay. We are more than willing to take a hit on that to make things as attractive for you as possible.

Vintage Instruments & Equipment

Shipping by air plus climatic changes can affect how a guitar is set up - no matter how well it is packed. Consequently there is no guarantee that an instrument arrives with exactly the same set up as stated. After a period of acclimatisation, you may still need to make any adjustments at your own expense.
