The Legendary Black Beauty in Its Earliest Form
Gibson Custom Shop is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates Gibson's legacy through accuracy, authenticity, and attention to detail.

While some were produced in 1953, 1954 was the first full year for the classy-looking, tuxedo-inspired Gibson Les Paul™ Custom. The Custom was the first guitar to come equipped with the now-legendary ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge. Like the earliest Les Paul Customs, this Gibson Custom reissue is equipped with a Staple pickup in the neck position and a Soapbar P-90 pickup in the bridge position, along with gold hardware. It also has a one-piece mahogany body, Kluson® Waffleback® tuners with plastic buttons, CTS® potentiometers, paper in oil capacitors, and comes with a Custom Shop hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
