David Garibaldi's Tower of Power, Paiste 16" 505 Crash Cymbal, Unused 1400g Late 1970's
David Garibaldi has retired from Tower of Power! David's innovative grooves propelled the band and helped define their unique funky sound. After an amazing 55 year run, he's putting away his Tower of Power sticks.
His ground breaking work with Tower of Power and his long list of instructional books and videos, have established him as one of the most influential drummers of our time.
David Garibald endorsed Paiste cymbals from 1978 until the mid 1990s. Paiste provided cymbals that complemented his crisp, articulate playing style. His partnership with Paiste helped to shape his sonic identity. Garibaldi’s years with Paiste were a defining era in his remarkable career.
From the David Garibaldi Collection at Donn Bennett's Drum Vault in Seattle, WA.
This, 1970's, vintage 16" 505 Series Crash Cymbal was part of David's vast collection. It would have been one of the earliest cymbals he received after signing on with Paiste in the late 1970s. It has a bit of grime from an old cymbal case, but is in otherwise excellent condition. I don't think it's been used. No issues.
The Paiste 505 Series were a surprisingly great sounding line of moderately priced cymbals. Bright, cutting sound and quick response. Made from B8 bronze alloy
Weight: 1,400 Grams
Acquired directly from David Garibaldi. Includes a COA signed by David Garibaldi.
