Fano’s Alt de Facto lineup is their premier custom offering. Each guitar is built start to finish by a single luthier in the USA, ensuring every instrument has a distinct story.
Naturally, they feature nitrocellulose lacquer on both body and neck. If this exact guitar isn’t your dream, just let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll help you get the best price on your custom build.
What Do We Think?
This Fano SP6 Alt de Facto pairs a mahogany body with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard for impressive tonal flexibility. The Lollar OmniTron P-90s, made exclusively for Fano, have a crisp, open character that delivers tight lows, rich midrange chime, and a top end reminiscent of single-coils.
The neck pickup sounds both woody and punchy, offering big yet never muddy tones. A slight midrange scoop keeps lower-string riffs defined and lends a chirp to the higher strings. In the mahogany body, this makes the neck position feel especially warm yet still clear.
The bridge pickup produces a Strat-like vibe, giving you sparkling cleans and transparent overdrives at moderate gain. Push your amp harder and roll back the tone knob for expressive, vowel-like lead tones.
How Does It Play?
Sporting a late-50s chunky C profile, the SP6 neck is comfortable at the first fret and tapers nicely as you move up. Open chords feel easy, and the profile invites you to dig in further up the fretboard. We set the action low at around 4/64” across the 12th fret on all strings, with no buzz.
