AVALON - Handcrafted Custom Electric Guitar. Made from Beech, Jabota, Chestnut. The only one of its kind in the World!!

Introducing the beautiful and mighty "AVALON"… a one-of-a-kind, custom semi-acoustic Electric Guitar that I handcrafted out of upcycled wood in 2025. It is made from Beech floorboards salvaged from a French school gymnasium, and 'Jabota' (also known as Brazilian Cherry) an exotic dark South American hardwood which was once a doorframe in a grand French manor.

A guitar built from wood with stories to tell, and strength and soul to match.

Its total weight is 3.4kg/7.5lbs. It is 100cm/39" long, 34cm/13.4" wide, and 4cm/2" high. It has a 650mm/25.5" scale length. The neck is carefully shaped for comfort and playability, with an easy action and perfect intonation. It has a pair of Wilkinson humbucker pickups, a three-position selector switch, and classic Volume and Tone controls – giving it a rich, warm, resonant tone both electrically and acoustically.

Crafted with a semi-hollow body for extra resonance and reduced weight, Avalon sings beautifully whether played through an amp or unplugged at home. I finished it by finely sanding and oiling it with Linseed Oil, giving it a silky, resilient surface that shows off the natural beauty of the wood. It has a discreet hatch on the back for component access, and a hoop in the headstock so it can be hung flush against the wall and displayed like the work of art it is.

This guitar will be securely shipped in a handmade, wooden, coffin-shaped carry case. I can personalise the guitar and/or the case with a message or design at no extra cost. Worldwide postage is included in the price, and as this guitar is finished and ready to go, I will ship it immediately, so it will arrive anywhere in the world within a few days.

Hi, my name’s Timo. I build unique Electric Guitars out of Upcycled Wood – old doors, floorboards, tables… whatever I can find lying around! I love building guitars out of antique wood because it gives new life to materials that would otherwise be forgotten. Old wood is perfect for guitars: it’s well-seasoned, stable, and full of rich character you can’t fake or replicate.

Personally, I love bare-wood guitars. Especially ones made from beautiful hardwoods like Beech and Chestnut. It amazes me how rare these natural wood finishes are nowadays, with most guitars being buried under layers of paint and plastic. I believe bare-wood guitars don’t just look better – they sound better too. With Avalon, every note carries the soul of the wood it was born from.

I like thinking outside the box when it comes to designing and building guitars. And I love sending unique instruments out into the world, where they’ll be played, loved, and appreciated for generations to come.

Condition:

This guitar was made by a man in a workshop with his hands – not by a computer in a factory with a machine. So there may be one or two small quirks or traces of its former life (old joints, filled holes, character marks...) but nothing that affects the sound or playability in any way. The pictures provided give an honest representation of what this guitar looks like, and I'm happy to provide closer or additional photos upon request.
