Vintage 1970s Mosrite of California D-40 D-50 Dobro Resonator Acoustic Guitar Red USA

Up for sale is this vintage Mosrite of California made Dobro Resonator acoustic guitar in a beautiful cherry red finish. The guitar was made in the early 1970s in California and overall is in good condition, especially considering its age. This Mosrite is setup and ready to be played!

This is a pretty rare model as there is not a lot of information out there on it. It is a D-40 or D-50 model with a round neck so it can be played as a fretted instrument as well as slide. It is very comfortable to play fretted or slide with its current setup. The guitar appears to be all original with the exception of the nut and saddle. A wide bone nut with the original string spacing was made to fill the footprint of the original metal barrel nut/string guide and a standard ebony capped resonator saddle was fitted to the bridge. There are plenty of scratches and dings throughout the guitar consistent with age, but nothing that affects the playability or integrity of the instrument. The truss rod nut is a bit difficult to access and is pretty tight. There is still a bit of relief in the neck so it may need to be looked at depending on your playing preference. It is a beautiful sounding resonator and a real eye catcher with cherry red finish and iconic Mosrite headstock.

The guitar comes with the original purple interior hardshell case. The case is in good working condition, however the top most hinge is broken. The case still closes and functions as it should, but you have to be mindful of lining it up when you close it.
