Welcome to another fine guitar from The Old Europe! Please make sure to read the entire description below carefully, and look at all the pictures. Feel free to make an offer with the submit offer button.
US buyers: The incoming new Trump administration has announced plans to impose a 10 % customs tariff on all goods coming to the US, which would include used guitars from outside of the US like this. If you are thinking about making a purchase from Europe or elsewhere, you might want to do so quickly to avoid these additional 10% on top of customs if and when imposed some time after January 20th 2025.
General introduction and background:
Very rare mid 1970s Framus S360 LP-style guitar, this one equipped with original Framus humbucker pickups. The S360 was made in the mid 1970s only for a limited time and is very rare. It comes with a 1970s case which was likely sold with the guitar.
Please watch the video!
As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.
Measurements, weight and other specs:
-Scale: 628mm
-Nut: ca 4,15 cm
-Weight: 3,64 kg
-Pickups: two original Framus humbucker pickups, PAF style, measuring both at about 7,9k controlled with 2x volume and 2x tone pots, 3 way toggle switch.
-Body: solid wood, probably basswood.
-Neck: narrow and slim D shaped neck, rosewood fingerboard with very low frets (they orientated themselves on the “fretless wonder” original Gibson Les Paul fret profile), with a rather flat radius of 12’’.
Condition:
-Body: great condition with a couple of scratches, dings and dongs, and slightly hazy finish.
-Neck: neck is straight, no breaks, no fissures. Frets are at 8/10 condition, no deadspots, no buzz.
-Head: good condition. Framus did sell some units without logo, so this is not unusual.
-Hardware: signs of aging
-Electrics: everything works
-Originality: all original
Sound and Playability:
-Playability and string action: very good playability with low string action of 1,3 mm on the 12th fret – but please note that this guitar, as so many of the German guitars of the 1970s, has very small, narrow and low vintage frets. If you are not used to that, the playing feeling is very different from a moden PRS, Ibanez or the like or even modern Gibson – it is a vintage-ish feeling that requires extra care.
-Sound: please listen to the video – ever so slightly microphonic, these pickups deliver a bluesy, warm tone, ideal for blues and classic rock, or indie in the style of Band of Horses.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.
