For sale is my homemade/handmade ('partscaster') replica of a 1956 Fender Stratocaster from the early 2000's, I forgot the exact year. I sourced all the parts, but then chickened out and had my local luthier/guitar tech do the assembly, fine tuning, and finish work. I was trying to recreate a 1956 Strat, sorta like Clapton's Brownie. The body finish is all nitro (and took about 6 months to get it done by my tech...he is very picky about finishes, moisture in the air, etc.). All parts are high quality with no junk.

Components:

-Body: Warmoth, solid alder, one piece, with some nice figuring

-Weight: 7lb 4oz on my digital scale

-Neck: guitar is on its third neck; originally a Warmoth fatback, later a Warmoth standard thin. Now it has a Fender '50's classic Stratocaster neck from Ebay (I was tired of finishing necks from Warmoth)

-Neck construction: 50's style one piece maple with skunk stripe and adjustment at the butt end

-Neck profile: vintage soft V profile, like a 10/56 shape but not as deep, thicker than a '57 V. Nice feel

-Neck radius: 7.25", vintage

-Neck scale: 25.5"

-Nut width: 1 11/16"

-Headstock string tree: Callaham, and of course the '54 style tree (but I like the looks of the '54)

-Frets: 21 medium 'vintage' frets, no visible wear

-Tuners: Callaham vintage style split shaft

-Pickups: Fralin single coils, cryo-treated by Callaham, from when he used to do this

-Other electronics, knobs, etc: Callaham, and includes a steel shield below the pickguard (!)

-Bridge: Callaham vintage style Strat assembly

Note: the body is all nitro finished, but the neck is a gloss urethane finish (tired of finishing necks)

Note: the bridge/trem assembly is set up flush with body, or non-floating. As I prefer. You can set it for floating if desired. However, note that I put a slight bend in the trem arm to accomodate the non-floating set up. If you set the bridge to floating, you will want to put the trem arm in a vise and bend it back a bit. No big deal. BTW, this is the best Strat trem system I have ever played.

Note: My tech and I finished this guitar back in the early to mid 2000's, about 20 years ago. And this guitar has been gigged a lot (I used to play with a classic rock group.) Of course, with the multiple neck changes, the present neck has no visible wear, no fret wear. But the body has sustained multiple dings here and there, lots of 'idiot marks.' There is nothing to affect the playability of this guitar, but with all the dings and scratches, I have to list it as 'very good.' There are ZERO playing issues.

The guitar comes with a Fender brown tolex case. I was very proud of this guitar back then and wanted a real Fender case, but chose brown tolex over tweed for the looks. Of course no case candy. This sale includes the guitar and case as pictured.

Sorry about the blurriness in some pictures. The weather is bad here and didn't want to photograph outside. So the shutter speed was fairly slow on my camera, making for some blurriness here and there.

Sorry, auction is USA only.

Note: I work out of town on occasion, sometimes gone 2-5 days. If the sale is made while I am away, I will ship asap when I return, or I will have my wife ship it. If the delay is over 2 days, I will throw a set of strings in the case. It's currently set up with 9-42, but can supply other gauges if desired.

Guitar/case will be well packed in a guitar box and padded for the trip.

Thanks for looking; this is a very nice Fender replica that I would put against any Custom Shop model. If you have any questions, just ask.
