For sale is an interesting VM-17S ribbon microphone, the ribbon motor is actually from the VM-15/16! Originally this is a multi-pattern ribbon mic, but at some point the internals were swapped, likely due to it needing a ribbon replacement. As a result, the current ribbon motor is from the Aiwa VM-16, which sounds incredibly similar, but you lose out on the ability to change polar patterns. This is a bidirectional ribbon microphone and it sounds incredibly thick. If you like warmth, this microphone will let you experiment quite a bit and you'll love it!

Cosmetic wise, this is as clean as it gets for such an old microphone with extremely limited wear. Functionally, everything seen works flawlessly, and it produces an incredibly hot signal. The cable terminates to XLR and the impedance is 600 ohms, so using it with modern interfaces is a breeze.

If you want an incredibly nice microphone that competes with 77-DX and completely outclasses it in sheer bass response... you might want to try this one!
