Yamaha RX8 drum machine with power supply, cleaned, new internal battery

• This istrument has been fully disassembled and cleaned.
• A new battery was installed in December 2024.
• The Cassette port is untested. Please consider it non-functioning if this is critical for your use.
• All other functions tested including RAM card slot (the RX8 can store data to MCD32 RAM cards).
• It comes with a modern power supply and is ready for your studio.

The RX8 is the final generation of Yamahas RX line. It is the performance oriented little brother to the more studio oriented RX7.

• Stereo out plus one voice can be asssigned to each of the two individual outs (so you can side chain your bass etc.)
• Patterns can be up to 32 sixteenth notes (two bars of 4/4). This allows time signatures like 19/16 etc...and you could quantize that to triplets.
• There is a song mode so you can link patterns and the patterns can be in different time signatures.
• All sounds are internal and editable. Time signatures are flexible.
• Unlike other RX series, you can ediit voices and assign pads while recording.
• There's a reverse button and a pitch button (a voice can have a second available pitch).
• It has a simplified version of Yamaha's Job interface. The menus are shallow and it is pretty quick to develop muscle memory.
• Pads are not velocity sensitive, but there is an accent pad and the pitch change.

The RX8 is the last of the smaller RX drum machines and by far the most powerful. I think it iis a really well designed instrument despite its lack of mind share. Particularly if you want to make complex rhythms.
