Up for sale, a 1967 Marshall JMP 1987T Tremolo 50 4x10” combo amp in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch and a vintage Brimar-branded tube set. This Plexi-panel Marshall pairs a JMP 1987T Tremolo 50 chassis with a custom 4x10 enclosure loaded with vintage Celestion 7442 speakers. This amp was a mainstay in Paul Allen’s “Cross Town” studio for years, purportedly used by many of Allen's notable friends including Tom Petty, George Harrison, U2, Robbie Robertson, and more (even Dan Aykroyd).

Via the pair of Brimar EL34 power tubes, this Tremolo 50 offers immediate, crisp cleans with sweetness and muscle, cascading into thick overdriven bark and roar. The two channel four input design can be jumpered for additional gain and interactivity between the Volume knobs, and this amp is touch-sensitive and powerful, perfectly tailored for live and studio use. The Tremolo is dynamic and musical, activated by the exceedingly rare wedge footswitch

The turret board circuit is untouched save for a substituted resistor or two, and all of the original Mullard mustard capacitors are present, with visible source date codes from the 4th quarter of 1966. The original Drake output and power transformers are present (1202-118 and 784-139), while the choke is a vintage replacement. All of the pots and jacks are stock as well, and the original plexi faceplate and back plates are extremely well-kept.

The custom-built cabinet is exceedingly faithful to vintage spec, likely crafted from a cut-down vintage cabinet, outfitted with an Eric Collins True Bluesbreaker-Pinstripe grill cloth framed by white piping. The cabinet is loaded with a quartet of vintage Celestion 7442 10" ceramic magnet speakers, three of which have been professionally reconed. Wear on the enclosure edges is quite limited with only a few minor scuffs and tears.

The original gray hammerite-finished wedge footswitch is included.
