This 1996 SJ is just two serial numbers away from one of my personal heroes, David Wilcox's, personal Olson. I wrote to James Olson about it and learned that this guitar's back and sides are, in fact, made from the same sister pair of Brazilian Rosewood as Mr. Wilcox's guitar. The top of the guitar is made from Adirondack Spruce. This guitar, #659, has a quick and crisp voice that's wide open after almost three decades of music have passed through its fibers.
