Yamaha SA2000S Solid Spruce Top 1980 Japan

Up for sale is a Yamaha flagship semi-hollow model SA2000S. Made in Japan, s/n 019835. Year of manufacture is 1980, according to Yamaha official serial numbers document. This model is widely regarded as "ES-335 killer" and for a good reason - it's simply one of the best ES-335 guitars money can buy. Version "S" has carved solid spruce top, a rare find and more valuable than standard version. Further specs are maple body with massive central block, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard. Scale is 635 mm, nut is 43 mm. Finish is gorgeous tobacco sunburst. Everything seems to be original. Overall craftsmanship is impeccable, on par with Gibson Custom Shop semi-hollows.

The guitar is in great condition for 44 years - there is of course general feel of use, some dings and scratches, caps are lost on some tuners - aside from that, nothing really worth mentioning. No cracks, no repairs. Frets show little wear. Electronics are 2 humbuckers with 2 pairs of volume/tone control and coil split on both pickups. Operation is confirmed, everything is good working order.

Sound-wise, this is very versatile guitar - one can easily play jazz, blues, commercial pop, indie rock and even some heavy music on it. There are some demos available online, I could record a special one for you if necessary. New set of D'Addario 10-46 is installed, strings are set at comfortable height. Comes with original hardshell case and instruction manual.
