This is the Roland's pro-level G-808 guitar/synth controller, the Flagship of that series - the big brother of the era's Roland G-series controller guitars.

The lesser model G303 was used by John McLaughlin on Mahavishnu 1984 albums and tours, Pat Metheny still uses his, Andy Summers of the Police, Robert Fripp of King Crimson, etc.

This guitar alone is one of the most well crafted hand-made Japanese models ever. All original parts. Heavy (over 9lb weight) Ash & Walnut body, beautifully sculpted. 7 piece neck-through-body design, of flame/birds eye maple & Mahogany. This thing is SOLID as a rock, with a deep dark Select Ebony fretboard. Gold hardware. Has factory-fitted 6 string Roland HEX synth pick-up as well as original Roland humbucker neck/bridge pick ups. I love this guitar! Loathed to part with it, but must right now.

As a guitar alone it is SO powerful, but smooth as velvet, loud and sustains for a long time! 3 way switch - original. An incredible, comfortable, beautiful, finely crafted instrument. *It even has the original perfect condition clear plastic control panel overlay - rarity.*

AS A BONUS - because of temporary malfunction of the synth GR300 unit:
Comes with ALL-original 1982 parts & accessories:
original Roland "GR" premium hard gtr case, 24-pin locking cable, 2 original manuals fully detailed with synth setting suggestions etc,  PLUS the original **GR300 synth unit** (with UK/Malaysia type power plug) and its original 3 switch foot pedal. This system has been gigged only 3 times, I am only the 2nd owner from brand new. Has hardly been played throughout its life - but deserves to be!

The GR300 synth unit has been in professional storage for 2 years and is sold "AS IS" because it needs electronic servicing to get it back to original sound quality - lights work, but tones are not sounding.
