I'm selling this Aria Pro II Herb Ellis Edition model PE 175 guitar that I believe is a prototype. I'm selling this for my father, he is getting up in age and he is thinning out his collection some. When he gave me this guitar he told me that he purchased this guitar from a music shop in Baton Rouge on consignment. He is the second owner. This was in 1974. I noticed it did not have a serial number on the sticker so I started doing research. This is what I learned. Aria did not start using serial numbers until the mid 70s. I also learned the the HE edition was not manufactured until 1978 and into the 80s. Of those models made, there was his name inlaid on the 19th fret and the head stock had decorative scroll work cut out at the top. This model does not. There are a few out there that meet this description, that are said to be early prototypes. I believe this is one. This guitar is beautiful. It is in remarkable shape for it's age. My dad bought it in 1974 and it's only been taken out the case maybe 3 or 4 times. He hardly touched it all these years. Only played it for a few minutes. He is a person that collects and takes excellent care of his things. This guitar really strikes me as unique. It comes with the gold plush hard case. There are no scratches on it. The marks you see on the headstock are fibers from the case. Everything is original. This guitar will be professionally packaged and shipped. Thanks for looking. If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer. Have a blessed day.
