Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...

A Vintage and RARE 1959 Stella Tenor Guitar with the original Vinyl Gigbag!

These cool Tenor guitars were made by Harmony from 1951 thru 1970. There is not a date stamp in the sound hole ..we are calling it a 1951 from the original wood nut. Its an early one for sure! All original to include the bridge, wood nut, Waverly Open Back Tuners and even the gigbag!

These Stella Branded guitars were made by Harmony and even sport the same H929 Model number, with the added TG for Tenor Guitar. They are usually printed inside the sound hole.  This early one doesn't have the imprinted model number nor a date stamp.

This is the fifth Harmony Stella Tenor we have had in the last 6 years. The last one sold right away. My customers love these guitars. They are traditionally tuned CGDA like a mandolin but I like to tune them to the top four strings of a 6 string guitar. Easier for us guitar players to manage. DGBE.

Here's some info we found on the internet regarding these cool Harmony made Stella Tenors..

The Tenor Guitar has a long and strong heritage in American Music, following early development as an alternative for Banjo players - not only in Blues, but also Bluegrass and Country Music - but excellent for a variety of playing styles, as anyone else who has heard Irish/Celtic tunes played on a Stella Tenor, will appreciate.

STELLA TENORS - 1951-1970

The Harmony made Stella H929TG is the 4-string/Tenor version of the iconic H929 6-string, of which I sell many, but the Tenor is the scarcer animal! Same size body, but with 14 frets to the body join, rather than 12 on the 6-string.

Stella H929TG dimensions are 36" overall length, 17.875" body length, 13.25" max. body width/lower bout, 4cm./9.5" upper bout, 3.2" body depth front, 3.7" body depth rear, 23" scale, 1.25" nut width, 1.5" fingerboard width @ 12th. fret.

These guitars have great looks, lots of vibe and historic all-American character - superb sounding parlor blues guitars. Typically set up for finger-style or for bottleneck playing - an iconic Chicago made, tenor Blues Guitars - all solid Birch, ladder braced construction.

If you are an acoustic blues player and wonder why that top line guitar (or for any matter, any modern guitar) you bought doesn't sound authentic when you play blues like those of Blind Blake, Blind Willie McTell, or Blind Lemon Jefferson, I can tell you why it doesn't and never will! All of those guys and many others from the 30s through to the 60s played Birch bodied guitars, some of them with Spruce tops, some all Birch, but it is the Birch, ladder-braced construction which gives that unmistakable sound. No guitar made today, American or otherwise can give you that sound, for Delta and Country Blues! If you want a fully functioning, great sounding piece of American musical history, this is it - a really exceptional addition to any collection of Blues/Vintage Guitars.

We cleaned it up and revealed the awesome original Faux Tiger Stripe finish on this Birch guitar and just had to get it put back together.. Our Tech did a great job with this guitar. He glued and cleated the three top cracks and gave it a great setup..It plays now with awesome easy playing action with no fret buzzes. Nice low action on this Tenor. No sore fingers playing this one all night!

The original frets are in great shape. Original Waverly Open Back Deluxe Tuners work great. The Stella logo is still nice and bright. A very nice guitar for this vintage.

This guitar looks great but its not perfect..superficial dings and scratches as you can see in the pics.. Its used and vintage.

Check out the original Vinyl Gigabag. You never still see these with these guitars. The Zipper works and is still with it. A true relic case for your cool vintage Tenor Guitar!

Its a used guitar. It is sold as is no returns. Thanks for respecting that.
