Dan Smith was chosen to redesign and improve the Stratocaster in the early 1980s. Dan Smith served as president of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation from 1981 to 1985, overseeing a pivotal era of change and revitalization for the iconic guitar brand.
This Stratocaster features an ash body finished in a beautiful Cherry Sunburst, exuding classic aesthetics and timeless craftsmanship. The maple neck features a vintage-style 7.25-inch radius, providing a smooth playing experience, especially for chord-oriented playing styles. The classic design is completed by a 6-point vintage tremolo, providing the expressive versatility that Strat players have loved for decades.
Tonally, the bridge pickup is wound slightly hotter than the neck and middle pickups. This configuration provides extra sharpness and clarity in the bridge position, making it ideal for cutting through a mix or adding punch to lead tones.
The guitar shows signs of use that are to be expected with a vintage instrument. There are playwear, small dents and some paint damage on the body and neck, but considering the age the guitar is generally in good condition. The guitar comes in a TFOA gigbag with TFOA passport.
