Fender 2000 D10 Pedal Steel Guitar & Amp Bundle

BUNDLE! 1960’s Fender 2000 pedal steel AND 1978 Peavey Session 400 pedal steel amp.

This pedal steel is not only 60’s vintage… it has HISTORY, as it was previously owned by Red Rhodes (Michael Nesmith, Monkees, Byrds, Seals & Crofts, James Taylor, Beach Boys etc.).  I don’t have a COA, but I do trust the guy I bought it from, who did mastering on a few Monkees albums.  Red’s widow sold it through him about ten years ago.  There is a red sticker on the side of the large case with Red’s name hand written.  Not sure if it’s his writing.

The guitar is a 60’s D10 Fender pedal steel, 7 pedals and 2 knee levers (jerry rigged by Red from old fender pedals).  Three pedals and the knees are for the E9 neck, and 4 pedals are for the C6 neck.  The cable pull system makes these instruments easy to modify (I made some changes underneath), and there’s an extra old pedal, cables and such if you want to add a third knee. IMO, you can’t get this sweet tone from any other brand, and it pairs perfectly with the Peavey. I'm selling because I don't use them, and I'd rather see them go to a fan of the old Fender's, and a fan of Red's.

The condition is “Good”, as it does have normal wear, and is missing the mutes and bridge covers (no doubt used by Red as ashtrays!).  The serial number is 00208, which doesn’t help place the year… I’d guess late 60’s based on the wear on the bridge plate which clearly shows it had mutes.  It’s got fresh strings and plays and sounds great.

The amp is a 1978 Peavey Session 400, solid state with a 15” Black Widow speaker, serial number 8A-193197. 

I’m willing to ship if I have to, but understand both these items are HEAVY.  Shipping both would likely be over $200.  I live in Maine if you can meet or pick up. Asking $3500, but I will consider reasonable offers.
