Beautiful 2020 Ken McKay 335. Those who are familiar know that Ken is the industry master of this particular body type guitar. I have owned a lot of guitars. McKays truly feel like "the real thing". Because of this, I've owned 7 of them.
This one is 100% original. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, routes, repairs or funny business. Truss rod functions correctly. Please see the specs on the piece of laminate Ken uses to as his COA. Highlights include:
- Old Growth Honduran Mahogany neck
- Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard
- 1959 spec 4 ply laminates for the top and back
- Ron Ellis pickups (these are at least $800 per set used)
- Neck is a rounded '59 Gibson style. .88 at the first fret, .975 twelfth
- Nut width is 1 11/16" (1.6975)
- Weight = 8 lbs
Minor fret wear (see photos). Had a setup with 9-42 strings last year. It appears the original retailer also did a "PLEK" on it (paperwork included).
