Modified open book headstock version. More info below:
This guitar is in excellent condition, almost as if it were placed in a time capsule and discovered nearly 50 years later. Manufactured in 1977, these guitars are very difficult to date, but here is a simple guide:
• Versions from 1976 to 1977 have the open book headstock.
• Late 1977 versions feature this specific headstock.
• From 1978 to 1984, they have the wave headstock.
Everything is original, including the case.
• Plays well, with minimal fret wear.
• Some wear on a few of the inlays.
• MPC functionality works without issue.
• One MPC toggle cap is missing; these use 5-way switch caps. I ordered a replacement but couldn’t wait for it to arrive for the photoshoot.
High output humbuckers. You can watch the video below to have an idea.
The case shows some wear but is not broken or heavily damaged, although it does reflect its age. Some parts of the leather have detached from the wood and need to be reglued.
This version has a neck with intermediate thickness. Some models have a very thick “baseball” neck, while others have a very thin neck similar to a Gibson SG. This one falls in the middle.
