Sansui QS-1 solid state quadraphonic synthesizer. Takes a two channel (stereo) signal and creates a four channel quadraphonic sound. Typically you connect this to two amps or receivers: one for the front channels and one for the rear channels. Gives an impressive "real life" effect of being in a concert hall. The QS-1 has four quadraphonic effect settings to cater to different types of music and listening preferences. This was Sansui's first quadraphonic processor and has that classic early 70's look and feel with four VU meters showing sound levels on all four channels. Face plat is annodized engraved aluminum.
Face plate and case are in excellent condition. There are a couple of small dings on the top of the face plate (see picture). The two synthesizer boards have been recapped with Nichicon UPW series caps. All meters set to the same test level to give accurate readings, and synthesizer adjustments made according to the service manual. Includes owners manual, laminated information card, a color copy of the service manual, and other documents along with a Sansui wiping cloth. A great piece of audio history that is fully functioning.
