According to former Ibanez employee and authority Jim Donohue, only 498 Ibanez RR550 CS Flying V's were built between 1983 and May of 1984. These don't come up often!

Per Reverb guidelines, this guitar is in Very Good Condition, and comes with original case. Despite its age, plenty of fret life left in this one (no visible grooving or pitting).

The 1981-1984 set neck X series models from Ibanez are among the best I've ever played. Neck profile is amazing - Ask anyone who owns one! Guitar has been professionally setup with low action, but there is still more room to lower the strings if you'd like!

Features: Ibanez V2 in the bridge, Super 58 in the neck. Hard Rocker Pro Tremolo (strings lock at the bridge)

Mods (all prior to my ownership): Sperzel tuners have been installed by previous owner - not something I would have done, but might have improved tuning stability with the tremolo; (2) Speed Grip II knobs are missing and have been replaced with standard gold speed knobs; Strap pins have been replaced. Tremolo bar is a reproduction (I did not receive this guitar with the bar when I purchased).

Finish looks great, but (predictably) has some dings / dents / scratches and a couple of areas of finish checking. I have handled many "pointy" guitars of this vintage (this one is 41 years old) that have fared far worse than this one! REVIEW THE PHOTOS, I've done my best to photograph the guitar and let you judge. It's a beautiful instrument.

Case has an area where the covering is starting to detach (see photo). It has not "spread" since I purchased the guitar, but next owner might want to investigate repairing it to prevent future problems.
