This guitar was acquired from the leading collector of Hamer guitars in North America. Yes, you guessed it—the one and only Peter Fung. Peter of course told me that these were made in a limited batch of 8 made for the Hamer Fan Club. This one, you see, is one of one, really. Why? Well, this is the only one done in natural and the only one with this Birdseye maple top. Jol Dantzig had a one-piece birdeye top he was saving, and as you can see, the result is stunning. Now, let's move on to the features.
This guitar is a tribute to the original 77 Sunburst and, as some of you may know, was constructed using the original sustain blocks from back in the day. Condition? Hum, have we met? Exceptional. Setup? Naturally. Original case, undeniable. Fretware? None. Truss-rod? Works as intended. "Lee, how about those DiMarzio Hamer DP 191, 190 pickups?" They sound like God's wrath on Cain for killing Able.
In closing, if you are the one that loves one of a kinds, then I got the guitar for you. Be unique, be different and no doubt one of a kind, or be one and the same. But one in the same equates to boring, and nobody's got time for that.
