This unique guitar amplifier is a refurbished and modified Akai/Roberts reel-to-reel tape deck amplifier. Care was taken to tailor the sound for clean and distorted electric guitar tones, and the results are sublime.
The Monkeymatic Black Butte features a 6X4 rectifier, one 12AD7 preamp tube (high quality 12AX7) and one 6BQ5 (EL84) output tube and generates 2 watts into 4 or 8 ohms. With its single Tone control and fully present mids, this amp sounds Tweed when clean, Plexi with gained up, and Tweed again when dimed. Check out the demo!
