Belles 28A Reference Preamp & 350A Reference Power Amp Stack

For sale is a rare Belles set that includes both the 28A Reference Stereo Preamplifier and the 350A Reference Power Amplifier. Designed by David Belles in New York and manufactured in the US circa 2009, this Belles stack is the pinnacle of hand-crafted attention to details and sound quality. The 28A preamp driven by the 350A power amp produces a holographic presentation with unprecedented detail, clarity and smoothness. Each unit will be shipped separately, each double boxed to ensure safe delivery.

With a monstrous 250 watts of per channel into 8Ω (or 1000 watts mono into 8Ω), The 350A amp is straightforward. The power switch and LED power indicator are on the front. The rear panel has the RCA inputs, a single XLR input connection used only for monoblock operation, and four gold-plated oxygen-free copper binding posts. The unit is in excellent working and cosmetic condition.

The 28A Preamplifier features a phono stage for moving magnet phono cartridges/head amplifier for moving coil phono cartridges. With a separate RCA jack input for cartridge loading (RCA loading terminators not included), MM/MC is selected via the front panel. The Belles 28A has three line level inputs (CD, AUX, and Video) and a line level balanced input. The balanced input is buffered with a differential discrete class A amplifier.

"The 28A is freakishly good at everything it does. Like the 350A Reference amp, it has no color, no limits bottom or top, and no hint anywhere of solid-state sound. Nor does it have any hint of tube sound. The 28A delivers everything you could want in terms of dynamics and harmonic content. The highs set the standard for what they should sound like from a preamp. The soundstage size is strictly a function of the recording. You can have flat or huge space; whatever is on the recording is what you’ll hear."
