This specific Paul Reed Smith – USA made guitar features a 10-top quilted maple top, known for its mesmerizing, deep grain patterns that change dynamically with the viewing angle and light.
Tonally, it provides quick touch response, a rich core sound, and a sweet resonance with high-quality compression. When driven, it delivers a pronounced midrange with exceptional sustain, capturing the iconic PRS sound.
Made in 1987, this Custom 24, with serial number 3121, is one of the early models that are in high demand today. The guitar has a mahogany body and a carved flamed maple top with a fantastic Whale blue finish. Another spectacular feature is the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. This was discontinued after 1991. The Custom 24 features PRS's patented tremolo system and two humbuckers with volume control, a 5-way rotary switch and a Sweet Switch.
The guitar has play marks and a few small dings on both the body and neck, but is otherwise very clean. The guitar is in excellent condition and comes in it’s original hardshell case, with the paperwork shown.
The Custom 24 is the ultimate PRS guitar. This iconic guitar was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to PRS's first Winter NAMM in 1985, and has been an integral part of PRS's line-up ever since.
