TWO! Conn Multi-Vider Vintage Multi Effects (Rare! Fuzz, Filter, Octave 1970's)

TWO - Conn Multi-Viders, Vintage 1970's, FUZZ Multi-Effect. Originally designed for brass and wind instruments, these can be used with just about anything.

These two units are in 'working' condition, by this I mean they power on and do produce all manner of fuzz, octave, and filter sounds. Some of the controls seem more responsive than others and each unit sounds slightly different. The battery indicator is working correctly and can be seen in the first picture with the units switched to ON. The inside of these originally had some sort of foam that helped keep things in place, the foam has since deteriorated and left a big mess of black debris. I clean it out as best as possible with a small brush and some electronic cleaner. There is a makeshift piece of replacement foam inside to keep the switches at their correct height.

This is a super rare and kind of weird machine, used by Miles Davis and some crazy cats on Frank Zappa's band. from effectsdatabase.com:

"The Multi-Vider is a solid stage, miniaturized computer. Flick the "Soprano" switch and the sound of your instrument is electronically channeled an octave higher. Flick the "Bass" switch and your instrument is accompanied an octave lower. "Sub Bass" gives you two octaves below. In addition, "Bright" and "Dark" switches permit instant variations in tone color.

Add four octaves at once, plus color, and you can produce a full ensemble chorus in unison. Or, complement your tone with a single extra octave. Or just use straight amplification. The Multi-Vider puts many exciting combinations at your fingertips!"

There are two versions of these, the nice thing about this particular one is the 9V battery adapter that you can easily adapt for friendly using.
