Here we have a masterpiece from the hands of master luthier Ren Ferguson: the Gibson SJ-200 Southwest Sun!
This guitar was built in 1995, back in the heyday of Bozeman acoustic guitars. Ren Ferguson is widely regarded as one of the greatest luthiers in the world. His Gibson acoustics are the most sought-after pieces.
I've owned many of his guitars over the years and this one is one of the best. The bass response on this one is massive. The depth of tone is unmatched. It may well be the best-sounding SJ-200 in the world.
This guitar features rare Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Brazilian Gibson acoustics are extremely rare. Beyond that, Ren's art masterpieces were usually not made from Brazilian rosewood. He typically used maple or other woods when making the art pieces, likely because Brazilian was scarce at the factory.
The inlays on this guitar feature a motif from the Southwestern United States. The inlay materials include turquoise, pearl, and genuine sterling silver!
Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
