History is a brand for a large retailer in Japan, Shimamura. They are Made in Japan at the Fujigen factory.
In 2002, when Fujigen took over production of History guitars, some of their earliest models were highly spec'd original designs. This guitar is one of those.
The strat shaped body is 2-piece Honduran mahogany. The top is curved and topped with a gorgeous bookmatched quilt maple. The neck is maple with rosewood and the frets are wonderfully finished with rounded ends. There is no visible fretwear at all. Weighs about 7.5 lbs and is very well balanced/comfortable to play.
The dual humbuckers are combined with a 5-way blade switch to allow for a variety of humbucker and single coil tones. Pickups were upgraded to Porter Anthem PAF’s (original pickups included).
I would describe the condition as very good, though there is some light playwear that I would call normal for a 22 year old guitar. No major dings or breaks in the finish though there are a few spots around the back edge. The biggest ding is on the back of the neck near the body, but it doesn't affect playability in any way. The only slight issue is the jack is a bit worn and might need to be replaced as the cable will sometimes slip out if not held by a guitar strap.
Includes the tremolo bar and the original hard shell case
