Hohner Guitaret rare vintage instrument made in 1965 + carrying case + cable (serviced & upgraded)

Very nice sounding vintage Hohner Guitaret available for sale! It's just serviced by a German pro tech who installed a set of new felt leather dampers, lubricated the moving parts and checked the tuning. The service invoice is part of the sale. The Guitaret comes in its original carrying case and a new DIN to 1/4" female jack cable for use in a modern studio is included as well.

Please check all the photos before you purchase this instrument. Cosmetically it's in used condition. Parts of the paint are not there anymore, the plastic 'Hohner Guitaret' badge is missing the red paint, there are rusty spots on the metal case, the carrying case has significant signs of use (latches very rusty as well as the metal parts of the handle), the red back panel has repaired cracks. If you're looking for a nice looking one, don't buy it. If you're looking for the sound, just buy it!

Tones are generated by fingers tapping or strumming metal reeds which are arranged in three rows of twelve reeds each. The instrument is designed to be used for eight different chords - the way they are arranged makes playing this instrument very easy. Chords are arranged like a circle of fifths (sharps to the left, flats to the right). The lever on the neck needs to be depressed when playing the instrument. Three pick-ups are used for picking up the resonating reeds, and an output transformer that comes next in line routes the amplifier signal to a three-pin DIN output. The Guitaret was designed to be used with an amplifier. If you run its output signal directly into the mixing desk, you'll need to use a DI box.
