Steve’s notes: THIS IS TRULY MUSIC HISTORY! The heavy 20s era Ludwig 2 pc brass shell is routinely referred to as ”the hit maker” by studio drummers everywhere, due to the incredible sound from that heavy brass shell. And, this drum is truly a “hit maker”: Chad Cromwell, noted LA and Nashville studio great, owned this drum and used it on 100s of recordings. From Chad, here are just a few examples of recordings with this drum:

Dave Stewart (Eurythmics): The Blackbird Diaries

Parker McCollum: Burn It Down

Joss Stone: LP 1 and Never Forget My Love

Vince Gill: Guitar Slinger and These Days

Also Elle King, Dierks Bentley, and “loads more I can’t even remember”.

The drum is set up exactly as Chad used it. So, the typical single flange rims with clips were replaced with the die cast rims shown. The snare wires were placed with wide 42 standard. We are leaving the drum set up exactly as Chad used it on all of his many recordings. There’s some serious “mojo” with this one!
