Easily on the rarest guitars to come in in recent memory, this 1958 Gibson Byrdland is next level cool. A handcarved spruce top with a carved figured maple back and solid sides make this a truly special archtop. Designed to be plugged in, it sounds glorious thanks to the original narrow spaced gold PAF pickups. Every part of this guitar is made with the best attention to detail and a joy to play.
This example has had a fair share of plugged holes under the tailpiece from different tailpieces over the years. Perhaps a Bigsby was once on this one before cooler heads prevailed. The original PAF narrow space humbuckers are original but have most likely had the pickup covers removed and soldered back at some point. The pickguard is replaced as well is the bridge top, the base is original. Cosmetically it is in good condition with a fair bit of checking and wear, with the most wear shown clearly in the provided photos. Serial #A28142, comes with the original case.
