Gordon Smith is a UK luthier and the GS model gets a healthy dose of design inspiration from the early 1960s Gibson Melody Maker and Les Paul Junior.
Thin 1-piece 1.5” Mahogany body, 1-piece Mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, 24.75” scale length, 12” fretboard radius, 1 11/16” nut, 22 fret.
This one is a used 2018 GS 1.5 with a USA Bigsby B5 in excellent condition. Previous owner upgraded the pickups with a Gibson 57 Classic humbucker in the bridge and a Fender American Vintage ‘65 Stratocaster single-coil in the neck. This guitar does it all. The Bigsby B5 unit has the Callaham upgrade kit string shaft (string-thru so no more fiddling with pins). Slim fast neck (.78” at first and .91” at twelfth) and is super light at 6.8 lbs (including the Bigsby).
The playability and tone of this guitar are amazing and its configuration is endlessly versatile. Everything works as intended and no chips or dings or structural issues. Nice tweed hard case shown in the photos is included.
