Gallato LDT 1939 Angelo DEBARRE

Very nice guitar made under the leadership of Serge Gallato in 2008. Serge Gallato is well known in the south of France where he has owned a music store "Valley And Blues" since 1987. He has also created multiple brands and had various models of guitars and basses made under the label "Valley & Blues", "Wolf guitars", "SP guitars" and therefore also under the name "Gallato". He developed a range of gypsy guitars in the early 2000s. There have been many different series, and you can find a lot of information on these guitars on the internet, which is not always very true... The places and manufacturers have varied according to the years and models, and it is therefore sometimes difficult to find your way around the production of Gallato guitars.

This one is from 2008, and it is a LTD 1939 model signed Angelo Debarre "petite bouche", which therefore takes up the characteristics of a Selmer model from 1939 (number 432). At that time, for this model, the choice of woods was made by Serge Gallato, who then had the lutherie assembled in Asia, then the guitar was then finished in the workshops in France: fretting, bridge, finishing of the varnish, assembly and final adjustment. The hardware is made in Montauban in France (mechanics and tailpiece). This therefore allows to have guitars with a very interesting quality/price ratio. The lutherie is of beautiful quality and takes up the codes of the original model: Solid German spruce top, back and sides in rosewood veneered on walnut, walnut neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge... Even the neck profile is modeled on the original model! The playing sensations are therefore similar, and the sound is really in the spirit with this grain typical of this model. It is powerful, dynamic, lively... In short, it is a guitar very well placed in this price range! If you are looking for a gypsy guitar in the Selmer petit bouche spirit, well made, with quality woods, I advise you to come and try it on site (by appointment).

You will find a video in the ad of a similar model from 2009 to give you an idea of the sound.

Sounds and comfort:

This guitar gives off a powerful, precise, lively, balanced sound... With this typical grain gypsy.

I advise you to come and try it on site to make your own opinion. The string height is set comfortably at 2.3 mm at low E and 1.8 mm high E at the 12th fret. The neck profile is U-type, old-fashioned, but pleasant to hold.

Please note that the guitar is therefore not new. It is celebrating 16 years! However, it is in very good condition! We will note some light surface scratches and play marks... It is completely healthy, adjusted and ready to play.

In short, a good gypsy guitar at a good price, and that sounds!
