The Stratocaster is the most iconic guitar ever made and played by guitar greats David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, John Mayer, and countless others. The versatility and distinctive tone has allowed the Stratocaster to cross genres from rock to blues, country, to jazz. 1965 was a transitional year where Fender was sold to CBS and made some distinctive changes from the sunburst to the logo but kept many techs from the pre-CBS era and it wasn’t until later in the 60s when more major and arguably less desirable changes were made. This has had a few modifications such as some overspray on the back of the neck, slight routing in two of the pickup cavities, the original bridge (included w/ mods) was replaced with a Callahan bridge, possible refret during its life, and the ground wire was resoldered. Other than these slight changes, the guitar is all original, fully functional, sounds great acoustic and better plugged in. Comes with original hard shell case.
