Over the past 20 years, many pedal manufacturers have tried their best to offer the perfect delay pedal. They have either focused on replicating the original note exactly, or on providing countless options that most never get used. The end result is that most delay units today sound sterile, cold and flat, while analog units use "compromise" components that fail to recreate the authentic tone of the great classic pedals.

We believe that the confusion of the digital side and the compromises of the analog side have led guitarists away from the two things that were truly great about early echo units: tone and warmth.

The dream would be to have a pedal with the consistency of a digital unit and all the warmth and character of an old tape echo. A hybrid pedal, a fusion of analog and digital to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

Wampler Pedals makes just that kind of pedal. Based on the renowned Wampler Faux AnalogEcho, the Faux Tape Echo delivers everything you love about digital without sacrificing the warmth, responsiveness, and simplicity that harks back to the tonal heritage of classic analog delays.

With an all-new modulation circuit (not a basic chorus effect) that speeds up and slows down based on your playing attack, the Faux Tape Echo delivers a fantastic “wow and flutter” emulation that never misses a beat, never disappoints. It can be enabled or disabled for even more versatility. Analog and digital come together under the Wampler Pedals banner, and the result is something truly special.
