The Precision Bass Special was a step up from the regular 1980 P-bass. It featured a new split-coil pickup design, with both active and passive modes; one of the first active Fender bass guitars, "for a whole new concept in tone variation". Aswell as being electronically advanced, it was a finely appointed bass, with gold hardware throughout, including a new heavy-duty design brass bridge, for "richer overtones" and sustain.

Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused.

Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with "skunk stripe." Maple fingerboard with black dot inlays. Candy Apple Red headstock finish matches the body & the decals are in great shape with no bits missing. truss rod works fine.

Body: Contoured, solid body finished in Candy Apple Red with gold hardware. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable brass saddles. 3-ply white pickguard with brass thumb rest. Bass weighs 10 lbs 0.9 oz.

Electronics: P-Bass split single coil with white covers - Master volume & dual tone controls with gold knurled knobs; 2-way mini toggle; 9-volt battery compartment in the back of the body.

Case: Unoriginal Hard Case for shipping / transportation purpose. The hardcase isn't the one that in the picture

Brief information regarding the bass:

overall this Fender Precision Special Bass is in good condition, considered vintage and rare.

Note :

1. The body is already refinished back to its original color which is candy apple red by reputable luthier in my town, but the head stock paint / finish is 100 % original

2. One of the pots which is the middle Pots condition is around 50 %, still working and acceptable, all of the pots is original.
